The department is housed in Schmitt Hall, a three-story building offering lecture halls and laboratory space for teaching and research. Another taching laboratory for chemistry is on the second floor of the third wing of the Science Education Complex. The department also hosts the National Chemistry Instrumentation Center (NCIC), a national facility. Analytical Instrumentation Lab ..oscilloscopes, function generators, data acquisition and virtual instrumentation system, chromatographs: HPLCs, GC, GC-MS, Ion Chrom; AAS, UV-Vis, laser and arc lamps, electrochemical apparatus .. Polymer & Materials Research Lab ..scanned probe microscope, FTIR with microscope, thermal analyzers: DSC, TGA, DMA, gel permeation chrom, gc pyrolyzer .. Natural Products & Biochemistry Lab ..polarimeter, rotavaps, electrophoresis apparatus, shakers, densitometer, shakers, autoclave, ultra-low freezer, molecular modeling computer facility .. National Chemistry Instrumentation Center ..400 MHz NMR, High Resolution Tandem MS with LC, GC, and ESI .. Chemistry Education facility ..multimedia tools and educational computer software facility..
