32nd PSBMB ANNUAL CONVENTION Nominations for Awards

 

PSBMB Best Researcher Award

 

Criteria


Significant contributions and impact in an area of research in biochemistry, molecular biology, or biotechnology with the following criteria:

  • At least 20 publications in reputable scientific journals

  • At least 10 publications in ISI-journals with at least two publications in the last 5 years

  • Currently active in research

  • Need not be a PSBMB member

Nominations

  1. Deadline of submission to the Awards Committee is two months prior to awarding date.

  2. Only PSBMB Board of Directors (BOD) can officially nominate. But members may nominate through a BOD.

  3. Nominator must submit nomination letter, summary of research accomplishments, CV, and photo of nominee.

Selection Process

  1. BOD will choose the awardee based on the nominees recommended by the Awards Committee.

  2. If there is no unanimous choice, selection will be by voting.

  3. If nominees do not meet criteria, no award will be given for that period.

Awarding

  1. The awardee will be informed of award in a letter from the President or his designated representative.

  2. A plaque or certificate of recognition will be given. It includes a write-up, photo, name, title, and affiliation of awardee.

  3. The prize will include a token cash award.

  4. If the awardee is unable to be present at the awarding, he/she may name a proxy in writing to receive award.


PSBMB Best Educator Award

 

Criteria


Outstanding teaching performance and impact in an area of biochemistry, molecular biology or biotechnology with the following criteria:

  • At least 10 years of teaching of biochemistry, molecular biology, or biotechnology in the undergraduate and/or graduate level in an accredited university/college

  • Consistent high ratings in standardized teacher evaluation or its equivalent

  • Must have made significant contribution to the advancement of BMB education in the country.

  •  Need not be a PSBMB member

Nominations

  1. Deadline of submission to the Awards Committee is two months prior to awarding date.

  2. Only PSBMB Board of Directors (BOD) can officially nominate. But members may nominate through a BOD.

  3. Nominator must submit nomination letter, summary of teaching accomplishments, CV, and photo of nominee.

  4. The supervisor/head of institute should submit a recommendation letter attesting nominee’s outstanding teaching performance and certifying high ratings in student evaluations.

  3. If nominees do not meet criteria, no award will be given for that period.

Criteria

Outstanding, significant, dedicated and consistent service and contributions to PSBMB as determined by the BOD.

  • At least 10 years of service to PSBMB

  • Must be a PSBMB member

  3. Nominator must submit nomination letter, summary of service and contributions to PSBMB, CV, and photo of nominee.
